WELWYN WINE SOCIETY

Wine Tasting in Hertfordshire - ADMINISTRATION

The Welwyn Wine Society is a non-profit-making organisation run entirely for the benefit of its members.

The Society has a Committee comprising a Chairman, a Treasurer, a Secretary and eight others Members.   There is a small sub-committee which organizes the Annual Wine Fair.

All committee members stand for re-election at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) usually held in May.    Reports are given to Members about the Society’s overall condition, its finances, its annual attendance and other matters of interest.

Only Members may attend the AGM which is usually followed by a hot takeaway meal with wine.  There follows a Wine Tasting when four Members present their choice of wines to those attending.

The Society has no employees and is run by its Members, the exception being the professional catering provided at the Wine Dinners and at the Annual Wine Fair.
