WELWYN WINE SOCIETY

Wine Tasting in Hertfordshire - TASTINGS

TASTINGS

Wine tastings are usually held on the fourth Thursday of each month unless otherwise notified.   There are no tastings in August or in December.   Tastings take place in the Civic Centre, Prospect Place,Welwyn, Hertfordshire, AL6 9ER.   Tastings are at 7.15 for 7.30 pm and continue until 9.45 pm.

The monthly wine tasting is an informal, relaxed and sociable occasion and although we have some members who are very knowledgeable about wine, we have no 'wine snobs'.   On each occasion we taste small samples of eight wines of which 2 or 3 are usually white and the rest are red.   To make the tasting more enjoyable, a selection of nibbles consisting of breads, biscuits, mild cheeses, patés, crisps and the like, is also provided.

Members receive a form about the next wine tasting by e-mail or by post if they have no e-mail address.

This form gives details of the next wine tasting and has a section to be returned with a cheque to the Secretary if the Member wishes to attend that next tasting.

Members may attend as many or as few Wine Tastings as they wish.   Members pay about £12 each to attend a Wine Tasting and only Members can invite guests who must pay about £14 each.   There is plenty of on-site parking available for cars. Entry to this venue is easy and wheelchair accessible.

It is not possible to pay on arrival because the organizers need to have prior knowledge of the numbers attending to plan the amount of food and wine required.
